iPad surprise!

Wow! Apple is trying to sweeten their already sweet deal! With the iPad on pre-order with over 120,000 orders it seems like the ipad wasn’t such a flop after all. I’m sure sales will really pick up once the iPad hits the streets in the big cities. I can imagine the looks of jealousy already.

iBooks’ very sweet price points are not the only surprise Apple kept for the iPad launch. Indeed, while we already knew the iPad can read and import eBooks in the ePub format, it probably won’t be as necessary as we thought; as the iBookstore already features the Gutenberg Project catalog for free.

If you’re not familiar with the Gutenberg Project, it’s a free online digital library supported by volunteers. This library already includes over 30,000 free eBooks from the public domain; it is an amazing popular resource.

Well, when checking out Apple’s iBookstore, I noticed that Apple has decided to include these directly. I obviously haven’t had the chance to count them, but it appears that the entire catalog is available for free download.

This is obviously very good news, making it easier than ever to access a lot of good literature on the cheap.

Asking for multitasking was just too much for apple. All we can do is hope to see that feature in the second release.

The iPad Has Entered the Building!

Well everybody I’d like to welcome you to Get-iPad.com formerly known as Get-iSlate.com (iSlate would have bee a better name)…This is the OFFICIAL first post about the real iPad and not about speculation or rumors allthough there will be pleanty more rumors before the release date 60 days from today. Since we’ll be expecting the iPad in March (just like we predicted) We have a bunch of time to start saving! I’m personally going to be using my tax return for the iPad…What about you?
